I am sort of thinking about getting one in the next month or so for my 55G tank at home. It has a mix of softies, lps, & sps. Anyone have an opinion on whether or not this is a good idea?
Also, what sort of experience do folks have with them?
Just make sure it is eating before your take him (or her) home with you. They are amazing fish though. I had one, and he never hurt any coral. Very docile.
Originally posted by kpk I know they will eat fanworms, but will they take out any aptasia? The pearlscale will according to Paul etc, but would like a cb.
A CBB has been known to eat Aiptasia. As well as yellow polyps, zoanthids, and other such sought after livestock. This doesn't happen very often, but it does.
Make sure you QT it when you get it, if it does bring ich with it you can treat it in QT so it has a better chance of survival. Mine had ich in QT after a few days and hypo took care of it. You will also be able to get it adjusted to frozen foods and/or black worms as well. Alot of times they won't eat in the main display because of the other activities going on from the other fish and the fact that they are very skiddish and panic very easily when first acquired.
