i have a 120gal. reef with about 200 lbs of live rock and has been up for 2 years. would it be ok to put a copper banded butterfly in this tank? my tank has 2 true perculas, sailfin, mimic, hippo tang, mandrin, bi-color blenny, pink skunk clown, two cleaner shrimp, sand sifter fish and star, two bubbletip roses and many other soft corals. if the butterfly will go in tank i'm planning on taking out the hippo tang for it.

they are pretty safe. i have one and he hasnt touched a thing other than what i feed him. i think they will nip clams, but your corals should be ok

Your sailfin might go after a CBB (mine did) and the CBB may go for your cleaner shrimp. The CBB can be delicate and is sometimes a picky eater. Mine never bothered any coral but I kept him less than a week before I returned him to the LFS due to the tang aggression.

here's mine in a zoo/paly tank, I would not put one in a 120 with all those tangs thats me though.

im planning on getting rid of the hippo and maybe the mimic.
the mimic and sailfin are the less aggressive. the hippo runs the tank and i think its time for something new.

i had one...he nipped at all my corals and my sailfin harassed the **** out of him.....one morning i woke up with him dead stuck on a rock that was left on the wall....my first and only death in the 6 months ive started my tank....but they do look nice
