if i put copper in my tank with lr will the lr come back, or will it kill it for good?i have a little ick on 2 fish i was going to put it in there but don't know what will happen.any help?

you will kill all the micro-fauna - worms, pods, etc... basically any invertebrate, including coralline algae. not to mention the residual copper in the rocks which will hamper future invertebrate life. it is not a good idea.

you nuke the rock, and all of the micro critters can then render your tank toxic when the copper kills them all off. if you are having an illness issue, i suggest putting your live rock in a bin with a mixing pump for 8 weeks to kill off any ick and treat the tank with copper and give the fish pvc and clay pots to hide in. once you have treated with the copper for 6 weeks remove it with carbon and waterchanges, until it tests out at 0, then retest the copper in two weeks, if still 0, ad back the live rock.
good luck

Petstorejunkie has a good solution, but I think to be safest, you should quarantine and treat the fish in a separate tank (if you have one). If you don't have one, it's probably a good idea to set one up so that you can quarantine all your fish before adding them to your display tank.

I have used copper with my live rock, and I m starting to put soft corals back in, It takes a while to get out of the rock, but you can just buy a few pieces of LR after to reseed it all thats what I did. I am mad that I did it though it takes a long time to make the LR come back. DONT DO IT! :)
