Hi
I suspect my copper level in my QT has been too high due to a suspect test kit. I have just released a fish into the DT from the QT and have noticed a darkish/shadowy mark appearing on its flank which leads me to my question. How does copper poisioning(too much copper in the water) manifest itself on or in the fish? Would too high a level kill the fish relatively quickly or would it take a matter of days/weeks?
It has been just over a week since I placed the fish in the DT and appart from the mark it appears in good health. It's appetite remains unaffected and respiration is normal. It has bright eyes and appears at least, in quite good health. However, the mark/shadow does concern me. I can find no other reason why the mark should have appeared. It is the only fish in the DT.
