ok, well hypo for 3 weeks now and ick still remains. 400 gallon system with high humdity have been having troulbe balancing my salinity and p.h due to these reasons. With that said, I am going to put l.r back and keep a side a few peices along with the few coral and invert i have a side and copper the sytem. Have over 2000.00 in fish here and dont want to run the risk of having ick come back. Just want to kill once and for all. My question is when I do this how long will it take to remove the copper down the road to where I can re-introduce new live rock and inverts. I will also be adding another 300 gallon sump in a few weeks after treatment so that n itself will thin out the dose. How long can I go before introducing new inverts and re-seeding the L.R? Thanks

Also can u.v, corabon, and skimmers be run while treating with copper? Thanks

dont copper your whole system, you will never get it out.

remove all the fish to a seperate system and treat them if needed with copper/ hypo. let the system corals/LR inverts sand everything exept the fish lay fallow for I think its like 60 days. that will break the ich life cycle in the tanka nd it will not have ich from then on.

once thats past you can retrun the now cured fish to the tank and just QT anything new you add.

I hope thats what you are asking.

Arati- I have 12" fish and a lot of them, thee is no where to put my fish big enoughtto not be over crowded and kill them from stress/ ammonia. There is no way I can do that hence the hypo of my main tank for the past 3 weeks
