I am about to quarentine wrasse for at least 6 weeks. I was considering cupramine at 0.5 leves after starts eating. Does anyone has experience treating wrasses with cupramine ? Please comment.

Wrasses do not handle copper well in my experience. I would never treat a wrasse with copper proactively. If I had to treat one for ich I'd do hypo or .3 cupramine.

Cupramine at .5 is too high for any fish, IMO. (Although its safe for most.) Cu at about .35-.40 works fine. Also, fish should be eating and CU brought to the therapeutic level very slowly. If your worried about about the wrasse and Cu, tank-transfer is ideal for curing or preventing ich; IMO. However, it won't do anything for most other, though less common, parasites. All of my wrasse have been treated with Cupramine; but I know some folks have had problems and I'd look at alternatives. Larger wrasse, like hogfish, tuskfish, etc., handle Cu very well.

Thanks for the comments. I will buy the Seachem Copper test since i have salifert Copper test which is impossible to mesure 0,4 Copper.

Also---don't treat a fish that doesn't have a parasite. Qt is for observation: treatment should be determined only after you know what's wrong with the fish, since not all treatments are compatible. If nothing's wrong, don't treat.

Last time i did it all my fishes (1 chevron 1 tailspot 1 slalaria) got ich. They stayed 6 weeks in my QT and showed no ich sign. The Display tank was without fishes for more than 12 weeks. Ich appeared within 4 weeks after transfering fishes in main tank so i have treated with cupramine without complications. Also my experience with cupramine has been very good untill now. about 20 fishes at total treated no one died. I confirm that fishes are eating, step up cupramine dose slowly.

So, based on this my last bad experience with the approach "wait and see" i have decided to use cupramine while QT fishes probably at 0.35-0.4 as Mr Tuskfish suggested.
