Copperband Dying Please HELP!

But recently he showed a little interest in frozen brine shrimp, not enough though, Im currently hatching live brine for him. But today I went into the room and he was all the way at the top of the tank just staring, then I come back in a few minutes later and hes on the bottom of the tank laying flat breathing really heavy. I noticed he looked kind of beat up, scales were missing. Could my royal gramma be abusing him? When I came home today I was pretty much expecting him to be dead ( I know, always the optimist) but to my surprise he was up and swimming in place, though keep in mind the lights were out in his tank.

Right now its 11:30 at night and i dont know if he'll be alive in the morning, so please give me some advise as to when I wake up and supose he'd be alive. I'll update to tell you in the morning.

What do I do?

Don't worry so much, fish cannot die by not eating for a few days. In fact, fish can survive a month without food!
Try feeding him some frozen krill.l

He died. I think next time if I were to get another one, I'll have him be the first fish in the tank.

If he died in this short amount of time, I am guessing that he didn't have a good feeding schedule/routine.

If you would've read my thread, you wouldve known he was refusing all foods. However, I don't think he died of starvation. He looked a bit beat up as though someone was picking on him. Better luck next time....

I was aware of the not eating problem. I just meant that the fish probably didn't have a good feeding schedule before he refused to eat.

I don't think its the royal gramma that could beat up your copperband that easily. It must be something else. Raddogz gave you some suggestions on how to try getting it to eat. Did that help?

It's possible for fish to survive a month without food if you have a good feeding schedule. By having a good feeding schedule, your fish can store unnoticable body fat which can be used by the fish when it does not have any food.

Yes.
Lionfish are common fish to get jaw problems. As a result, many of them go without food for over a month. However, they still survive. How? They are given a good feeding schedule so they can build up fat!

"Some fish have gone 6 months without food and lived!" my veterinarian claimed.

I'm really trying not to type in all CAPS here, but how would having a good feeding schedule have changed anything when he wasn't eating to begin with? I bought him as soon as the petstore got him in, took him home and he wouldn't eat.

I was trying to imply that you should not buy any fish that has just arrived at a pet store. In addition, I was pointing out the "fish feeding schedule" for future reference.

Using an analogy, if a human does not eat for 6 months after being 600 lbs on a good feeding schedule, will he live?

I am not trying to rag on you White Tiger. I just don't see the logic of what you are saying.
