copperband food?

Whats the best food for a copperband?

Mine seems to not want to eat anything. He rather pick at the rocks and once in a great while, grab some food if it passes by.

These are very hard to keep. Some people have luck keeping them. Majority of them are caught with Cyanide and end up dying for that reason. The ones from Australia are the best but have a hefty price tag. They like feather worms alot and that is what he is probally picking on. They are a hit or miss for apatasia's. You can entice him with live brine or soaking your food in some garlic extract. Usually when I buy my fish I want to see them eat before I buy them. Keep us posted.

I totally agree with this statement. I'll never buy one again from a shop -- only from another hobbyist letting one go. It is very, very difficult to get one to eat prepared food.

I have a copperband which I am going to be selling. I got it from Rod's Reef and he eats Rod Food like it is going out of style! PM me if you are interested in the fish (sorry to hijack).

Mine was a bit finicky at first but then I saw someone here on RC who used mussels. You wire (aluminum) them to a veggie clip on the side of the tank with a rubber band around the shell to keep it closed enough so that only the CB can get to the meat. After doing that for a few days, he started eating out of my hand. Hopefully it will work for you too. Good luck!

I have 6-7 of them in differt tanks I maintain for others and all of them eat frozen food. I think finding a healthy one to begin with is key. (like mbunaman said .. not cyanide caught)

yep find a healthy one and your golden mine has been one of the hardiest fish ive ever owned it lived thru a tank over heat where everything else died but him and a maroon clown! but he was my 2nd purchase. first died 2 days after i got it:-/

Well, He's about 4 weeks old and he's not getting skinny. He could be eating food that gets caught in the rocks etc..

Rod, it was nice to meet you last saturday. Poppy's Onyx(reef tank) are happy to be back on Rod food!

My Fowler tank goes crazy with Rod food too!
