coppersafe or cupramine?

Coppersafe is a chelated copper compound; Cupramine is a "fully charged" ionic copper, and is supposedly safer (for the fish) than Coppersafe because it's effective at lower concentrations. The Coppersafe "effective range" is 1.5-2.0 mg/L; while with Cupramine it's just 0.35-0.5 mg/L. Personally, I've never had a problem using either. Just ramp it up slowly (4-5 days instead of the 24-48 hrs as per the instructions), and don't use any ammonia reducers in conjunction with either.

Also, make sure to buy a copper test kit so you know you're achieving the effective range. For Coppersafe, use API copper test kit; For Cupramine, use Seachem or Salifert copper test kit.
