Coral Banded Shrimp Yes/No

I bought one of these guys about 3 months ago and since I've added it I've lost both my cleaner shrimp, all three peppermints and the blood shrimp has very small antennas now. The CBS looks great, probably 10" antennas. One small clown has a ripped tail fin and one of my anthias has a lot of fin damage. Another culprit may be a 4-line wrasse added at about the same time. What is your experience with these shrimp?

Coral bandeds are opportunistic hunters. Look at the claws for any proof you need.
I blame the shrimp. They hate other shrimp in particular.

So far my large CBS has left my fish alone . Every once in a while my sailfin will let him do a bit of cleaning on his face. I have had mine around 8 months and he's in with a couple clowns, fire fish and a couple cardinals.

My lfs keeps coral banded shrimp in tanks with the other fish/inverts, but each cbs is in one of those little plastic bug carrier things. They've also got a mimic octo in one.

I'd never keep one though. I've seen a cbs almost win a fight with a peacock mantis.

The clear things up a bit..

When asking whether or not a cbs is safe to add to your aquarium you'll always recieve 50/50 answers as some people will experience them being harmless for years, and others cerial killers that lure fish in with their cleaner shrimp like antennas and grab them. (although they will pick parasites off fish like cleaners)

These are possibly the only shrimp one could say is oppertunistic like a crab. If underfed it will grab the easiest target whether it's a sick fish, debris infront of them, etc. (I've been pinched by these things trying to hand feed them.. it hurt!)

They're not particularly aggressive as they will clean fish like a regular cleaner shrimp, but they not particularly peaceful either where you can sleep at night 100% of the time..

I think I'm going to catch him and trade it in for a cleaner. Especially since the anthias it keeps pestering is my borbonius. Although, both the clown and anthias have made a full recovery. The anthias still hangs out just out of the CBS's reach though. Just to be safe I'm pretty sure I'll be getting rid of it. If I can catch it without destroying my tank.

Thanks for the help.
