Has anyone ever been sucessful in catching a coral banded shrimp in their tank full of live rock, if so how did you do it? I've been trying for weeks.

you need to use a trap, bait it with wahtever the shrimp likes, almost anything will do.....but do so at night long after the lights go out.

The club has such a trap for the members to use.

Join the club the trap will cost you close to the same amount! You also get to take advantage of all the other things the club offers like the frag program, library program( lots of books and DVD's ) , and the equipment like the fish trap.

Actually Brian is very much correct. atrap will cost anyweher from $35 upwards. Its one of those things you may need once a year or so, and as such is ideal for the club to own.

Membership in the club is only $25.....

Yes. The Oklahoma Marine Aquarium Society (OMAS) is based out of Tulsa. We had our meeting Saturday Feb. 17th. There is also a forum on the OMAS site, as well as a forum here on Reef Central.

fwiw, I never had any luck when I had a coral banded shrimp to catch. I did not use a trap though. I just tried everything else I could think of and eventually took out all the rock and reached in there barehanded and caught the bugger. Took off a claw in the process too, but I think he deserved that one. (not mean here people, just fed up with him :D, he did kill lots of corals first!)
