coral beauties

so i have 2 coral beauties in my tank atm, they seem to get along most of the time, how would i know if i have a pair or 2 males?

If they were both males one would be beat up. Did you get them small, one will become a female. I have paired up 6 different small angels if you get the small the will figure it out.

neither one looks beat up but one definitely has dominance over the other one, when i got them it was a " lets stick them together and see what happens" i know not the best thing to do but i figured what the hell, the are almost always within 8 inches of eachother, will the male chase the female around or? there is never any "real" aggression though, guess what im asking is is that natural behavior between males and females?
