I've gota a 55 gal tank with a coral beauty angelfish as the only fish that is a threat to any reef. Has anyone had any successes or failures with reef with this type of fish? I would love to hear about both!
I will NEVER add another centropyge to my tank. Within a day of adding my flame, none of my sps had polyp extension. I waited over a week with no signs of improvement. He went from picking on digis to picking on every acro in the tank. I had to tear my whole 90 gal apart just to get him out. The only positive thing about it?.... I like my aquascaping better this time. To me, it's not worth the risk again no matter how beautiful this species is. However, I may try a genicanthus angel. Good luck with your coral beauty!
I have had a Coral Beauty in my reef for about 1 year, and all is happy. I have even added new corals after him and I have yet to see him nip. I would agree it is hit or miss though. I have heard that if you add the fish last, they are less likely to nip. I truly enjoy this fish.
