coral beauty/haddoni

I have a chance to get a coral beauty. Would be putting it in a 90g w/haddoni. I have done some reading where the anenome is not safe but did not say what kind of nemmy. I have also read that the haddoni could also make an appetizer of the beauty.

I think I fixed that just about right for you. If the S. Haddoni is healthy and sticky there is 0 chance of a fish breaking free in my experience.

It is a risk, and only up to you if you want to take it.

I have had a coral beauty in my 58/65 with an S. haddoni for about 2 years without an issue. However, about a year ago I did lose a Golden dwarf angel to that anemone (( had to do with the pink skunk pair being super aggressive )). Now that I don't have clowns with that anemone (( just a porcelain crab )) the coral beauty (( and the other dwarf in that tank )) ignore the anemone.

However, in my 75 I just sold an S. haddoni because of the dwarf angel I have in there. It hasn't be officially classified, so since it is pretty darn rare I didn't want to take the chance of losing that fish -- he was spending too much time near the anemone, mainly because of the clowns.

this carpet is now very healthy and has a good appetite. I feed it a frozen, he does not like it warmed up, piece of krill at nite, about 1/4x1/2" piece that I break off the cake. His clarkii makes sure he eats all his dinner. I would not be surprise if the clarkii did not "goat" the beauty in. Then spins its fins and suggest " see what I got you" :lol:

Yeah, I am starting to think that S. haddonis are actually more dangerous when they are hosting clowns.

I beleive that all fish are born with a natural instinct to stay out of an anenomes tentacles but if for some reason a fish gets startled or chased into an anenomes tentacles then it is unfortunate.:fish1:

I should have re-phrased my original reply to say " If the coral beauty gets too close and accidently brushes up against the nem then it most likel has 0 chance of breaking free".

i would worry about the angel bitting the nem.i have seen a flame tear a maximini to shreds for cover up a cave entrance.nothing will probable happen with the angel but you never no.gl

I am tending not to get the angel or star. I already have enough housing projects on plate. Thanks everyone for confirming my thoughts.
