i was just wondering if coral beautys are know to eat xenia.

has anybody had any experiences with a coral beauty and xenia together?

Mine didn't stop with Xenia, it went after my brain, leather, Kenya trees, nipped at SPS, bullied my clowns away from their anemone, and chased two firefish to their death. And this was after six months of perfect behavior.

hit or miss on them. all the angels are the same also. by bicolor was a model citizen untill one day......

I have had one for two years, other than incidental picking while grazing, never a problem ... knock on wood.

Both my flagfin and CB occasionally trim the tips off of a stalk of Xenia -- it doesn't seem to hurt the coral or even bother it. All four angels harassed my open brain, to the point where I had to move it to the 21g, but they don't bother anything else.

55 gallon reef, mostly LPS, xenias (2 varieties), gsp, button polyps, ect. ect. and my coral beauty waits for the fish food to eat, every time.

I know that this is a little off topic.....but.....

I just picked up a coral beauty on wednesday and havn't had any luck getting it to eat. I have tried two kinds of brine shrimp, mysis, and plankton all frozen. I also tried Formula One flake food. It acts hungry, snatches everything up...and promptly spits it out.

Any help you all could be would be great.

thanx guys. i bought a xenia the other day as well as a mushroom. when i was there my coral beauty didnt even go near it. however i left for a few hours and all of a sudden the xenia disappeared. oh well i guess i got the miss of the coral beauties. :-)

jctewks ..it usually takes a while for them to eat. hopefully she starts soon. i feed mine mysis and flake food. she loves it.

Hah! I wish something would graze on my Xenia! Of course, now they have to answer to my clowns, so its not gonna happen.. LOL.
