i purchased a coral beauty for my reef tank from my lfs, they say its ok for reef tanks and they did take it from a reef tank but i have read that it can nip on corals so should i keep it or try and get it out and return it,its been in the tank since friday and i dont see any problems yet

It's hit or miss with CBs.
I've had one for years in a mixed coral tank and it only nipped Nepthea.
But it hasn't touched an coral in a long time.

^ Agree ^ Sometimes you might get a real peaceful one but sometimes you can get one that nips at your corals. I rather not gamble and just dont get them.

Cheers,
Henry

I have had one for years I like him/her too much to worry about the corals. Something in my tank decimated my zoas and maybe it was the CB but I'm willing to accept that.

i have one in my 75 gal mixed and it does not bother anything, but maybe his buddy the kole tang taught him that algae is yummy, lol.

I've not had issues with CBs. it really comes down to the individual. I've had a majestic angel in my mixed reef for over a year and he's been the perfect citizen. However, I've heard stories where they can decimate a tank.

Agree with other posters. All fish are different and have their own personalities like humans. Think of it like this: some of us like to eat meat, some us eat fish and poultry, and some of us eat only veggies. With dwarf angels: some will eat coral, some will eat certain types of coral and other won't eat any coral.

I've had my coral beauty, George, for almost a year, and he's always been a model citizen. Be on the safe side...feed 'em a little extra! :)
