Here’s what works for me, I try to do the same thing every time.

First, I shut off my return (leave all powerheads on)

Second, I mix up a VERY small batch of reef roids(because it’s literally powder) and dump it in. Broadcast on a small level. For me, this pollutes the water enough to entice my corals to extend. Let sit for 10-15mins..

Third, turn off powerheads then I mix up a batch of reef roids/reef chili/mysis/CAcoral food. Then I spot feed everything. Let sit for 30-45mins.

Fourth, turn on powerheads only. Let sit 10-15mins.

Last, turn on return pump, enjoy.


I probably do this twice a week minimum, max three times. Every “normal” day is just basic fish flakes.
