Coral Frags okay?

Although I think I'm crossing the line between being able to say I'm new to the hobby vs experienced with saltwater aquariums, I still consider myself to be new to corals.

I had a few frags in my last tank, including a frogspawn, and a few ricordia floridas. My tank died and I'm starting again. It has been a while.

I'm starting off with a frag and invert only tank. I will add fish in a few months.

My tank has been up and running for several months.

My first additions to the tank were from my LFS, and included a zoa frag, and two ricordia florida frags. They are doing well as you can see in the pictures that I will provide links to below. The ones that have been in the tank are on top of the LR I have in the tank.

They have been in there a few weeks now, and since they are doing well (the one ricordia is even splitting!), I decided to add a few more frags. Reefs2go had a special on frags.

The other frags that I placed in the tank just now are in the pictures provided in links below also. They include:

1 Acan
1 Frogspawn
1 Gorgo-Blueberry
1 Pally (kaleidoscope)
3 types of polyps (glove-purple, star green, and daisy)
4 ricordia floridas (3 green, one blue, and one tri color)
1 zoa frag.

When these frags came in, there was a mix up with my address, and long story short, I went to pick them up out of town and the trip home was long and hot.

I'm a little worried that they may not be doing too great as a result, but I'm new to the hobby so thought I would ask the experts.

I know it can take some time for them to adjust and open up, so my worries may be without good reason, but again I thought I'd ask.

The one ricordia is torn pretty bad. It can be seen in the picture as ripped and stretched out real long.

My new zoa only has one on the frag of ten that are opening. The frag that has been in the tank has been great and they all opened up the day I placed it in the tank. So I'm wondering if this is normal for the new frag.

The pally frag (with two heads) I don't think is open. It looks different than what I've seen before.

My three polyp frags just look like they have a bunch of heads, but they aren't opened (except for one polyp on one frag).

The frogspawn seems good.

Any thoughts regarding their condition would be greatly appreciated!

Here is one link to all the pictures I just took. Again, what I have had in the tank for a few weeks is on the LR, the new additions are frags on the sand bed.

They all look alive to me. The zoas should adjust. Give them time but keep an eye on them. 24 hours is really not a long time for these frags to be unhappy. Report back in a couple of days. Hopefully they come around.

Thanks Mike Ordner. Was just a little worried since they don't seem to be adjusting like my others (as quickly). I know that 24 hours isn't long, and I'll definitely post updates!

Nice selection and variety. Give them some time and they'll come around.

Thanks kmbyrnes. I woke up this morning, turned on the lights, and about an hour later I noticed that two of the polyp frags were partially opened!

Still waiting on one more polyp, the paly, and zoa, but definitely feeling more confident in their health in seeing two of the polyp frags adjusting!

When I got zoa's mail order it took them a few days to settle in. Those from the LFS took no time at all. I'd say it looks normal.

Thanks shesacharmer. I'm thinking you just confirmed my suspicion that the cold packs included with the order, in addition to being in transit for a couple days, may be the difference in the time it is tanking for them to settle in.

Just out of curiosity, I've been using Kent reef salt. It says that it is made to include all of the trace elements, calcium, etc., that corals need. Being that I'm new to corals, do you all think that will be enough for these corals?

I picked corals that I had success with in the past where my reef salt alone was in the tank and they thrived (polyps, and ricordia florida), and others that I thought would be similar or easy. Nothing like acropora or anything.

Update!

Here are a few updated pictures I threw in another album.

I added a few more frags to the tank also.

There are a few more frags that don't seem to be adjust well. The one Zoa frag had three of the ten polyps open, but there are still seven that haven't.

My one Paly with two polyps hasn't opened at all (is this a sign that it was harmed during shipment, it has been over a week)?

I added another Paly frag yesterday and all ten polyps are already opening.

Also, as you can see in one of my pics, one of my ricordias is still pretty badly torn

Not every coral is the same - some open immediately, some don't. Give it time and be patient. Nothing good happens fast in this hobby.

I know acabgd, just getting a little overly excited about my new additions! But Reefs2Go also has a 14 day guarantee. If there is something wrong with them because of their being damaged in shipment or anything I'm going to have to email them soon.
