Coral Growth Progression (w/ pics)

I am having a bit of trouble with a few of my corals. All the ones shown minus the birds nest, which I feel like is doing okay, were added about a month ago. Many are not extending and are browning on the skeleton. There is slight tissue dmg on one when I did not wash hands before I touched it, it stopped there just adding that note because it was caused by myself not the tank environment.

75 Gallon with sump. I am dosing kalk keeping everything at 8.5 dkh and ~ 430 calc with no measurable phosphates and low nitrates. I am spot feeding them every day with reef chili and small frozen red plankton at night.

Would like any suggestions you guys can offer here, Thanks!

I moved him to the bottom when I saw that he was not extending, he does somewhat at night though

All others are doing okay. Mainly lps though.

Not sure I see a problem there..
All corals look fine from what I see..

If anything maybe try phosphate dosing to get those levels up and measurable..
They are beneficial nutrients needed for proper life/growth..

You feed them everyday?
That's excessive is it not.
Photosynthetic corals really do not need any food at all, they get their food from the light.
Know I do feed mine, the ones with a good feeding response twice per month, but that's it.

I do see what you're talking about. The birdsnest (BN) is bigger in the after pic, but even then the polyps are not extending as much as the before pictures.

I bought a BN and accidentally broke off a piece. I got it for my 20 gallon but decided to put the broken piece in my 10 gallon. The little broken piece is now 10 times bigger than the original piece I stuck in my 20 gallon. All parameters are similar, only difference is 10 gallon uses LEDs and 20 gallon uses t5. The LPS I bought the BN from grows them under LEDs. That's the only thing I can chalk it up to in my case. Maybe you are having a similar issue...

But they said the BN was fine :p
Now I'm really confused..

I did but I do think that he's right now that I look at them again. He's got good growth but not nearly the extension that he should have.

I guess I'll reduce my feeding and see how they are on their own two feet. Thanks for all the responses
