Where can I find some info on which type corals can "sting" others or what corals that may be a problem around others? Also, where is a good reference, with photos, for various "common" corals?

Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman and Corals by Julian Sprung are good reference materials.

Thanks, I will look for it. How about any "free" info on the web? I know I can just search but I thought someone might have some good sites they use?

a search yields LOTS of results. I would drop in to MarineDepotLive.com or liveaquaria.com They usually have pretty common corals that are well identified, but if you want to get a little more detailed, check the Australian Marine Institute of Science Coral Search page - http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralid_search.php

*Note: This site is for reef building corals. All others will need to be found elsewhere.

I know there is a list that is circulating around RC here about coral sting potency, but I don't have it bookmarked. FWIW, Galaxea, Plerogyra, Euphyllia, Cataphyllia, and Hydnophora have got to be in the top 10.
