If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
I bought this coral about a month ago. I was told it was an Acan. If anyone can give me a definitive ID, I would be greatful.
Also, it seems like it is dying. In some of the pics (sorry they are so shi*ty, I am still getting the hang of it) you can see parts of it are white, like the tips of little spikes on some parts of it. I thought this was the flesh pulling in and the skeleton showing. If it is dying, what can I do to save it? I feed it cyclopeeze 2 times a week and I also feed some of the other coral and the true percs in the tank a frozen mixture (clams, squid, krill, etc.) that this coral sometimes gets a hold of and seems to chow in it. I had it halfway up on the rock work and yesterday moved it to the top of the rockwork. No special lights, just the 2x36 watts that comes with the cube.
Also, there is what looks like a greenish/brownish type of stuff on some of it (looks like an algae growth). Again, sorry the pics don't show everything exactly that I am talking about. Water params a fine (I am anal about that and was testing almost everyday up until a few weeks ago).
Ok here are the pics:
here it is in the tank, you can see the lightening of it on its right side
out of the tank...again the lightening of color on the side away from my sausage fingers
trying a bit closer
a bit of a clearer shot, but the coloration issues and white points I am talking about aren't really visible
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
