I recommend this book! It covers a wide range of topics and easy to read.

I also recommend the The Modern Reef Aquarium Volume 1-4 Great info.
If you are interested in seeing some of these books I would happily lend some to you. About a year and half ago I did a talk at one of the meetings on books and other media in the hobby maybe I should do another one at of the future meetings.

Out of your three choices I would say Sprungs Quick Reference Quide. I personally use Corals of the World by Charlie Veron.

I have all of them. Overall, if you could only buy 1 this would be it.

If you didn't have the money for it, buy the Sprung book. Great basic book.

When you get deep into SPS corals, buy Corals of the World.

Sorry I forgot Corals of the World didn't cover soft corals. It does cover LPS as well as SPS. It is a three book set and IMO really can't be matched for hard coral ID.
