I receive these two corals free with an order. Wondering if anyone can help me out as to what they are. Thanks for any info.

Its hard to tell from these pictures but my guess is -first is purple montipora capricornis and second is also a montipora but an encrusting type,sunset montipora.Sps corals,not for beginers.

Amy harm in trying to grow? If it doesn't live it won't crash the tank.

Nah let em grow. If they don't make it no money out of your pocket. Watch them and if they look like they are dying or haven't grown after a month or two you could take them and still not be out anything.

If they die they wont poison your water .Those 2 corals if they are indeed the ones i sayd are verry beautifull,fast growers corals just arent for beginers.They need high light and constant alk and calcium,little phosphates and pristine water conditions.If they are hard stony corals with a verry thin layer of flesh that hass small polyps they are the corals i sayd but if they are soft then i was wrong .

No they are both about 1/2 inch thick maybe a little more.
