Okay, so I have had this little bugger for a while and nobody as been able to ID it. I know that it is not photosynthetic. It really opens up under my actinics. It eats like no tomorrow. It could possibly be in the dendrophylia family. Anyone have an actual name?

Looks like a ball anemone to me, although I haven't seen one that big. Generally harmless, not a pest...

Joe, it seems this coral may be a Phyllangia species, a carribean coral. A very hardy coral.

Thanks for the frag.

sanjay.

Sanjay looks like you got it right. somebody else happened to be looking for an ID of a "carribean cup coral" on the lps forum. The pic looks the same as mine. Somebody IDed as a phyllangia.

Caribbean "Cup Coral" ID?
