Hi all,
I have something on my lr that looks like aiptasia but instaed of the usual brownish color it is forest green and the tentecles are diamond shape.

Any ideas on what it could be? Is it another type of aiptasia? I will try and get some pics when I get home, but I hope someone can id it before.

Thanks

Sounds like it could be a majano species anemone, but without a picture, who knows?

?flower/rock anemone i've seen green ones, and they have fat stubby tentacles, but they are more shaped like an oversized paly or something squattier than aiptasia

Hi all,
Thanks for all the replies, I got home pretty late so the picture is up in the gallery and I hope I linked it correctly below. Hope you can ID it properly now. Let me know, I am curious what it is, how it got on my polyp rock, and wonder if I can remove it then attach it else where.

Thanks!

NOT a rock/flower anemone

you threw me on the "diamond shaped tentacles"

it is either majano, aiptasia, baby LTA

as best as I can see, it looks like aiptasia, but the colors are wrong. Some majanos are very pretty actually, like green with floyrescent pink tentacle tips etc

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks for ID-ing it for me, I do not have any Joe's Juice handy so I will move the rock closer to the peppermint Shrimp's hidey hole. Hopefully he will take care of it. If not I will have to go get some Joe's Juice.

Thanks again!
