Coral ID

[cfmx]

This coral came w/ the tank when we purchased it. We're trying to figure out the ID.

looks like a really really cool shaped montipora capricornis

Yeah, from the bottom and sides I would say monti cap. May be just really stretching for light.

It's right under 400 10k MH and 4 - VHO. We have another monti cap mid tank and it looks like a regular monti this one grows up?

Flow has a lot to do with the shape they grow . Ted

We broke off a frag of this monti and placed it in a different location in the tank and it also is growing upwards. All our other monti grow like plates.

My guess is Montipora verrucosa but I can't say for sure without an up close pic of the corallites. Does it appear to have rounded nodules or bumps all over?
