:( We have recieved our last issue of Coral magazine, it will no longer be published in the U.S. :(

I recieved my notification of this in the mail yesterday, and on top of that, was not at all impressed with the "sampling" of the new magazine, the company says it is going to publish in its place"ReefLife"

I have truly enjoyed this magazine and really hate to see it go away. I truly hope the parent company in Germany will find someone else that will take over and publish here in the US.

Went to the Coral Magazine website and they said nothing about it there and then went to the new ReefLife site and it only says "coming Soon" I posted for them to extend my subscription on to the new magazine but they will have to do well to improve on "Coral"

I, felt it(Coral) was the best out there in regular printed publications about, Corals and this hoppy overall and was "very disappointed" at the news!

Well ReefCentral and the on line magazine they produce is tough to beat , but I am still one of those that truly enjoys the printed word..

:( :(

I received my copy of the January/February 2009 issue of Coral magazine yesterday. It is now being published in the U.S. by James Lawrence. Daniel Knop is still the International Editor. Anthony Calfo is the Associate Publisher as well as one of the seven Contributing Editors.

This is the issue that was supposed to be published by Eco System Aquarium in December as the December/January issue. It's very nice, just like it has always been.

I still haven't received a refund from Eco System Aquarium for the full year's subscription renewal that they owe me. I had just called them in October to renew. I have been a subscriber since the very beginning. I sent them another email today -- my fourth in the last seven weeks -- asking them why I haven't received the refund I requested but so far they have not replied to any of my emails.

They sent out that unsigned letter the beginning of December advising us that they had severed their relationship with Koralle and that they were in the "process of designing" a new magazine that they hoped would be ready for publication sometime this spring. Maybe.

I only found out by accident that Coral was still being published in an American edition but by a new publisher. I happened to come across that information is a thread on one of the boards.

Please keep us posted on what they do. I tried to subscribe to it in December but they wouldn't let me.

You're obviously talking about the old publisher, Eco System Aquarium. They abrupty stopped publication of the magazine just prior to the December/January issue, which had already been translated and was ready to be printed. You will have to ask them why this happened but they won't respond. They don't respond to emails.

You can subscribe to Coral magazine on the new publisher's website: here. The issue that would have been the December/January issue is now called January/February. I received my January/February copy a couple of days ago. They're giving you an extra issue free. In other words, you will receive seven issues instead of the usual six.

As for the old publisher, Eco System Aquarium, I gave up on those clowns and filed a complaint with my credit card company, American Express. I renewed my annual subscription as soon as I received the reminder postcard from Eco System in September. My subscription was due to expire after the October/November issue. So I was charged $37.50 for the next year beginning with the December/January issue. Only problem is that I didn't receive a single issue on my new subscription and Eco System has not responded to any of my four emails over the past seven weeks.

They will have to respond to the inquiry from American Express or run the risk of damaging their relationship with American Express. I fully expect that I will get full credit to my American Express card sometime within the next 60 days. If I don't, then the next step would be to file a complaint with the US Postal Service. They used the mail to deliver their product. It's amazing how fast companies will respond to an inquiry from a postal service inspector investigating a mail fraud complaint.

:D

I let them go ahead and keep what I had left on my subscription (only a couple of issues thankfully) to try there "new magazine" From what everyone is saying it that may or may NOT happen.

I will have to re-subscribe to Coral as I sure have enjoyed that magazine.
