Coral on the wall/tank

I have seen a lot of pictures of coral growing on the walls and glass of the tanks, mainly Xenia. I know that Xenia can grow like wild fire in a wheat field (already spreading in the biocube) so I'm not looking at them for this, but other softies. I really like how this looks, can anyone tell me how to accomplish this? Can I also do this with corals like frogspawn? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can attach frogspawn to the walls/glass however realize frogspawn is a branching coral, and what you want sounds like more of an encrusting coral that will cover the area.

Green star polyps work well and grow fast IMO

I purchased some frags from a local reefer and he had his Back wall full of Xenia... He said he put a rock next to the glass and they grew up the wall. Is this the best practice?

Just last week I superglued some GSPs on my back glass. I hope they grow fast. They didn't seem to mind the superglue at all and were out in full bloom within a few hours of the gluing. You don't need much glue, trust me.

If superglue gel doesn't work on a particular coral, try attaching it to a base rock first. Then get some underwater epoxy and form it to the base rock and to the back glass. If you have problems getting it to hold (as you most likely will on glass), try some superglue gel (between base rock and epoxy and between epoxy and glass if necessary). With glass being so smooth, it doesn't give superglue much to bite into, but if you can get it to stick, the coral should eventually attach and be fine.

Another method could be to move a rock with the coral near the glass, with the coral touching the glass. Over time, it may attach, allowing you to move the rock out of the way.

I attach my tabling acros to old mag float magnets that hold them to the glass and allow me to move them around as needed.
