coral only tank?

i have a spare 10 gallon that id like to make into a mini reef.
right now it has 16 lbs of live rock in it
the tank is bare bottom

is it possible to keep corals only without fish or inverts?
would i have to feed the corals then?? will the tank be too sterile? or would the live rock provide "something" for the corals?

corals id like are mostly LPS and a few softees
ricordia, zoas, frogspawn, blasto's, open brain, favia, plate coral..

You do not need fish for a reef. There are many fishless reef tanks. I would feed the corals. What are you going to do for filtration?

when i feed the corals, would that just be adding something like marine snow in the tank? or feeding the polyps with an eye dropper?

right now the tank has a hob filter, and maxijet power head.
pc lighting 2x40 actinic and daylights

I don't know, if I have a coral die I like to blame it on my tank being overstocked with fish. I there are no fish WHAT THEN?

lol
well then shouldnt the tank be perfect then?
unless feeding the corals would make the tank get icky
do i have to feed the corals??

my other reef tanks with fish i never fed the corals and they are three years old (lps and softees)

I have a fishless nano at work. It's got LPS, rics and zoas/palys in it. I throw in a pelet or two every once in a while for the peppermint shrimp and blueleg hermit. other than that, just regular water changes.

Just watch out for the corals you get (size wise) and the number you get for a 10 Gal. As they mature and grow in size, they might (by some of the ones you mentioned) start to go ballistic and start a chemical warfare.

yep i hear ya on that one
my pearl bubble coral in my 15g went on a killing spree. i would watch it everynight stab my hammer coral. the hammer would stab back but after a month or so of this war the hammer lost, head by head it was murdered

are frogspawns bad? i only had one back in the day, but it was a lemon and died soon after purchasing it :(
