coral placement question

I purchased a finger leather a few weeks ago, its doing nicely where it is on the top rock under 250w 10k mh's
theres a rock right next to it that i had planned to put another coral on, im not sure now if i should leave that rock empty or not?
how big and wide can this finger leather get? im wondering if i put a coral on the rock next to it the finger leather may grow and spread out and start touching any coral that is there.
but if it doesnt, well then im left with a bald spot
so what should i do? leave that rock blank giving the finger leather room to spread out? or put a non aggressive coral next to it? it would be in pretty close contact, like less than an inch away if i do that.

heres a pic of the rock in question to the left of the finger leather

Leathers can get HUGE! I've seen pics of them at over 2' wide. It will get big enough to fill the space eventually, but right under a 250 MH seems like quite a bit of light for that coral. As long as it doesn't bleach or shrivel up, it will get massive
