coral placement

what is the best way to attach a leather coral to a rock? I tried to use Aquamedic reef construct but without good result..

Have you tried tying it down? Cotton thread should do it. Give it some time to grow onto the rock, and the thread should pretty much fall apart after a while.

There is a thread on RC somewhere about that. What they did was break a toothpick in half and glue it onto a rock and then stuck the leather onto the toothpick. It will eventually attach itself to the rock.

Capish?

For leather corals, using the toothpick technique as faze suggested seems to be one of the most effective techniques. Instead of gluing the toothpick, though, I'd suggest using a rubberband to secure the toothpick (and thereby the frag) to the rock. Once it's attached to the rock, you can remove the rubberband and toothpick, then use superglue or epoxy putty to attach the rock with the frag to the location you want in the tank.

There is a very easy way, no glue, no poking holes with a toothpick, etc....Simply place the base of the frag between two small rocks and wrap a rubberband around the rocks. Keep it tight enough to hold the leather but not smash it. It will usually attach in less than a week, two at the most. Then just remove the rubberband.

+1 to this! Works great!
What i have also done with my fiji yellow leather was place it on a small piece of live rock or whatever you want to attach it to and wrapped it in veil(or something similar to it) and within a 3days the leather attached to the rock and then i just removed the veil. I didn't wrap it too tight but enough for it to attach and still open up. Worked great without damaging the coral at all!!Simple too!
