Coral QT

Ok I am very confident that I have an ich free DT after following all QT procedures for fish. Up until now I have just dipped new coral and put in the DT. Now that I have invested so much time effort and coin, I am very hesitant to add anything at this point.

But I will be buying more coral. What are my options so I don't bring in a parasite with a new coral?

Coral QT? If so how long before ich is not a concern? I sure don't want to keep a QT up full time, nor for 72 days. Surely there is a better way.

Coral TTM?

TT does not work with corals. There is no 100% guaranteed protocol other than quarantine for at least 72 days. There are things that can be done to reduce the likelihood such as removing the frag from the plug.

Coral in at for 72 days means another decent light to keep it healthy and the maintenance, time and hassle. I'm not doing all that for coral. Removing from frag plug and coral dip is my route I guess. Thanks for the reply.

But remember, no water transfer from the coral shipment to the display tank.

Understood. By the way, I want to personally thank you for your contributions to RC. I followed your (and others) guidance and I am a much more informed aquarist. And my livestock thanks you for that as well!
