Hey everyone,

Well I love MacGillivray Freeman's Coral Reef Adventure are there any other reef related DVDs that you can recommend?

thanks!

Coral Sea Dreaming is one of the best. I own a lot of reef/coral dvds and videos. I actaully have two of them... I borrowed the thing out so much I thought I lost it and bought another. Now I got it back and have two.

The Imax movies are not bad... The great barrier reef is pretty good.

I have this one.

But it looks like this one is the same just a newer release.

The living sea is not too bad either.

Just so you know the Coral sea dreaming in not informational. It is more of a relaxing type of movie. It basically is some film to music of some of the most insane video footage of the worlds coral reefs.

palau Gardens of eden is awsum but I think it was only released on vhs. If you can find it it is awsum... And I would put it above both the imax films above.

There was an astounding HD Program shown this year on Discovery HD Theater I think. It was an entry in the series "Equator" called Our Coral Islands. Beautiful sweeping HD reef shots, huge table acros, and a fairly informed narration. Charlie Verron was listed as a consultant in the credits.

I watched it four times and then my wife deleted it from the DVR!

Jim - any idea of the exact name? I believe I caught the tail end of that, and I still have the "kick me" bruises for not having recorded it on the 'puter.

Equator is multipart series. I have seen a few of them, most have nothing to do with the reef though... I think the one I saw on the reef was the Equator, Reef of Riches which is about how a coral reef can turn into a island.

Discoveries Planet Earth or Blue Planet Series-They have a DVD titled Coral Seas. It has some great shots of acro growth 2 years worth and they time lapse it in all of 15 seconds. Lots of great cinematography.
