coral resembling anemone for clown

i need a coral that fits these criteria

1. it has to stay out both day and night (so the clown has a good spot to hang out during the day and to sleep)

2.it must not be too iritated by the clown(so much so that it retracts everytime the clown touches it )

3.it must resemble an anemone(such as torch or hammer corals)

if anyone can think of a perfect candidate please do tell :)

LOL, depends on the clown. I have seen clowns host in almost anything from montis to hammers to mushrooms to overflows, just got to make sure your setup can handle whatever coral you want to try with. Usually though they prefer longfer tentacled corals like frogspawns and torchs.

cheers

I've seen clowns host in hammers, torches, and frogspawns. The polyps retract at night, but what does that matter? The clown will sleep there regardless.

oh i didnt know they would still sleep there if it was retracted. ok well then im gona order a metallic green torch tomorrow thanks!!

what do u mean? it will be glued to a rock so why would there be a problem??

no one said it was a problem...just that clowns will also host powerheads :D

Is your "current tanks" up to date? Do you have a clown in your pico?

That's what that was in reference to, sometimes youll have another idea of what your clowns should host than they do.

haha thats funny jmadison :)

slakker yes the ocellaris clown is less than an inch when he gets to big im upgrading to a 10 gallon with a 10 gallon fuge . plus for the time being while he is in there i do a half gallon twice a week water change.he seems very happy and healthy for now. but will def upgrade so dont worry . my 1 inch cleaner shrimp just molted and the red leg hermit is doing wonderful all eating great. and the 6 inch hawaiian feather duster is doing wonderful as well.water parameters are close to perfect :) .and like i said i do 1 half gallon water change twice a week to keep everything replenished and cut down on impurities in the water column and long with hcanging the carbon filter 2 times a month
