ok i need to dip for aefw which is killing my acros how do i use this dip ,,i will be using 2 5 gallon buckets one with solution and one with tank water to rinse how much should i use per 5 gallon bucket ..should i just follow the instructions as i will be dipping a hawkins and dont want to kill it.

just follow the directions, I have safely more than doubled the recommended dosage.

however, be aware I have read that revive will kill a hawkins.

i did the recommened dosage this week. some corals came out fine. my red planet did not. next dose im doing half. fyi i only did it for seven min. if you have some corals that arent doing so well i would only do a half dose. as mc-ro said it will kill the hawkins. good luck and this is my 2 cents.

That is what I heard about hawkins and dipping that is why I wanted to know if I could do have time in and half the solution but will it be effective ? I would hate to not kill the aefw and then transport it to the QT only to infect the qt tank and repeat the cycle so I guess I better do it full strength and pray for the best ..guess that acro is walking dead just doesn't know it's time is up so I hear...lost 7 mother colonies thanks to one bad frag that I didn't see eggs on but apparently it had them..should have qt'd the frag but didn't have the tank setup yet another big big mistake and so life goes on just not for my tank ..my last question is does pocillipora corals attract aefw like sps .is poci an sps or not?

i dipped my hawkins for 10 weeks with revive and never had a problem.. just over came aefw.. i use a baster to blow the coral while in the revive and did the same thing after it came out of the revive into the tank water..

I dipped my hawkins for 10 min. in ReVive and did indeed kill it. I am always wary of smooth skinned acros in ReVive. I still dip them, but just cut the time down to say 5 minutes or so.
