Coral RX too potent

I just bought a bunch of sps and dip them with coral rx. I went per instructions for 10 min. Everyone I was talking to was very light on this subject and said no problem any coral will be fine for the 10 min. Well a couple nice acros skins are peeling off and same with lps!! :eek1: Yeah, live and learn I guess, pretty bummed..:sad1:

What does everyone else do? Do you just give it a really quick dip for like a min or two??

I have been dipping in revive with one drop of flatworm exit added for about 5 minutes. I did not do this at first and got the red flatworms as a result. I have only had one acro lose it's skin.

I have way overdosed this product while dipping and how only had bad effects with hawkins ora. Coral rx has been great otherwise for me

Does going for 5 min make a big difference rather than 10 min? How long does it take before those pesky little buggers drop off?

Caulestrea polyps are looking much better now. Maybe I didn't lose them after-all. I thought for sure that one was a goner after the dip.
Hoping for the best.

The other coral was a highlighter granulosa which isn't doing too hot. I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with smooth skin acros just like the hawkins 'reefinder' mentioned.

The deepwater Acroporas like Echinata and Granulosa can easily loose tissue in dips. They are more sensitive than other Acroporas. I've used TM Coral Cure Pro on some deepwater acros (lokani, multiacuta, loripes) and that was no problem at all. Never used RX tho.
