Coral "sunscreen" coloration?

Hello all! I wanted everybody else's take on this. LED lighting has been somewhat controversial for keeping colorful SPS- a lot of people say it is because LEDs don't have light in the red spectrum. Some also say that it is because LEDs lack the proper amount of UV Radiation and that corals make a colorful "sunscreen" to block out this UV. However, I read an article that claimed this sunscreen was transparent, but another article said it was colorful? In a sense, 2 claims are needing to be validated here: the claim that LEDs lack UV lighting and the claim that the "coral sunscreen" is colorful. What do you all think about this issue? Thanks!! :spin2:
