do you have floor drains? with the quality of work you will probably never have a leak big enough to need one.

Yes there are four purpose built drains directly into four inch pipe. There are also four 'flood bugs' that are strategically placed to send an alarm to the alarm company who then notifies me by phone and email that I may have a problem and then shuts off the water main to the house if they do not hear back from me within two minutes. The bathtub ring around the fish room has been calculated to take all the overflow if all the systems were to fail.

Peter, how many gallons is the fuge? The size of everything is stepped up so much from my 200 gallon system that its hard to get a grip on sizes from the pictures. It almost looks undersized for such a large system, but I know you are doinf the mangroves as well so that probably makes a difference. Also, is that one of the plasma fixtures lighting it?

Without doing exhausting math I think it is approx 100 gal. It would definitely be undersized without the 180 gal sump and the 4 sq feet of surface for the miracle mud and mangrove hydroponic wall unit. The skimmer holds about 45 gal (I think). We are also going to add a custom food production unit that will also be plumbed into the system. Knowing what I have learned from Mr. Wilson I think both he and I would have designed a larger refugium from the outset but we also both agree that with so much various activity going on with the processing of the water column that we will wait and see if we want to make any further adjustments.

I was happy to hear back from the pump engineer that we don't need an expensive and noisy frequency convertor for our quiet pumps. Fortunately, the 50mm hose fits 2" hose barbs, and the 40mm hose fits 1.5" hose barbs. Now we just need to learn German to program the pumps"

I am looking for the 40 and 50 mm silicone hose as well... wondering if you could you point me to a source to purchase. Or did you get it directly from Royal Exclusiv? Thanks for any help!

Thank You szymek for teh kind words and the great pics. I'm glad everyone enjoyed their time. Peter is a great host. Hopefully we can do it again when the tank is full of coral.

Yes, one floor drain in the fish room which is waterproofed up to 5" and one under the tank. There are three water sensors that are hooked up to the home alarm system... and yes... I set off the water alarm once... so far.

Yeah, it's expensive and hard to find. I ordered it from Koralenwelt from Germany with the pumps just to make sure we had it. You could try an industrial hose supply house. They can special order it for you. It is use for medical and lab equipment and they charge accordingly.

I go back and forth to this thread,

Hi Peter,
there're on the way you set up an absolute dream pool. I already drooling when I think of how your pool looks in a few months. I would love to sit in the next plane and come over to me your aquarium to watch live.

One more quick question, because my English is limited.
Are you a dealer?

Greetings Sven

No I am not a dealer, I am retired. Salt water reefing is relatively new to me, but I am learning very very fast!!!
........and your english is very good. I would be happy to give you a tour if you are ever visiting my area. We have less that 5 cm of snow at the moment. Thank you for your support.

Peter

Peter, tremendous tank, I'm certain I missed it, but when will all the lights be one color temperature? It will make the tank look 100 times better!

Thank you Baldwin, I hope to have all the same lights tomorrow if the equipment comes in and Mr. Wilson helps me.............actually Mr. Wilson will make sure it gets done properly while I carefully observe and try to confuse him.

+1

Yes, thank you Peter, Mr. Wilson, Brothers Grim, Judy and even Mollie for the incredible opportunity and experience.

Yes, the tank, build, fish room and house are truly as fabulous as shown in this thread.
Yes, Peter is truly as nice a guy as is presented in the 230+ page build.
Mr. Wilson, you sir are one very knowledgable expert. The amount of time you spent explaining the highs and lows of this jounry to date was amazing. The amount of time and valuable advice / discussion you shared was,, invaluable.

Thank you all so much for making our humble little group a small part of your fish tank, sorry OUR fish tank.

Very good Craig, "our' tank is very well supported by Mr. Wilson and the team. I am very fortunate they found me. This thread is very responsible for the wonderful results we are starting to achieve with this build. The club visit was very enjoyable for us. I am still in awe of just how nice reefers can be. They were great guests and are welcome back anytime. I moved the majority of fish over from the fish room to the display tank last night and can't believe just how colourfull and busy the tank is. Thank you for posting the pictures, its great to share the evening with everyone on the thread who couldn't be there.

Peter

Peter. Thank you so much.
Don't call me mentor. I am just your humble friend.

Tank of the Month:
I already got this title.
Let's give this opportunity to other reefers.

Sorry ChingChai, Mentors are chosen, they never get to choose their students. You are the best my friend, you'll just have to accept that.

Peter
