Hi,
we have a big tank too, and we had put 11 T5HO, but we wanted to try the LED
but since our tank is 8 foot x 42 inch x 27 inch (high) it was hard finding the right fixture
we choose this one :
The compagny can make the fixture the size you want and the LED are dimmable manually or with the Profilux controller
so our fixture has 332 LED (mixte of blue, white, red and purple )
we ask it to be 8 feet x 22 inch (22 inch is standard... we could have ask for more but well it was getting expensive! )
here's a little video of it

This picture is a representation of one of my favorite things about these forums, where else would most of us see something like this? Peter and Mr. Wilson, again thank you for taking the time to educate and inspire us!

Thanks Matt, we will be here as long as you folks keep coming back to check up on us. I might have a tiny update on our 'pimp' snail.

I saw a snail at my LFS with a 2" Aiptasia on it! I like yours better, it's not carrying a weapon! :jester:
That's a really nice image, Peter. Were you ever able to capture an image of that fan worm with the refractive feathers? I'm sure there's probably someone here who has seen them before.

Peter/Mr. W,
Do you think that pressing sand in the epo will help it blend in more. Will the epo hold it?
Thanks!

If you look at ChingChai's tank you will find no evidence of any epoxy at all.
Peter
Thanks! I like the look of the phillips screwdriver impressions.
And yes, If I hadn't followed it from the beginning, I would not be able to tell what kind of structures Ching's corals were growing on at all.
Thx.nineball said:Ask and ye shall ........ok I forget but here is the pic.....no one seems to know what it is.
Thx.
Anyone have any guesses? The worm itself is deeply buried in the rock and can't be seen. The feather gills are a little more than an inch long, virtually invisible, but if you stand at different heights or different angles you can see bands of light refracted in different metallic colours: oranges, reds, etc. - very much like looking at a holographic image on a bank card, etc. I haven't been able to find anything quite like this in my books.
