Coral...The Aquarium 'Crack'

I thought I did the right thing

I bought an Aqurium used, a nice one at that. I had been reading here as a lurker for a Looong time learning over anything else an elusive seldom followed practice. i started my tank , add live rock and waited and waited and waited (8 months). learned how to take care of water, evaporation, elements, salinity effects, lighting, flow, circulation...added a couple clowns for the kids , a shrimp, and watchman.Then...

...just recently I caved. I mean, all the other cool kids were doing it. They seemed to be saying... "Come just try one frag", "One frag never hurt any one"..."You wanna be cool don't you"

Ok , just one time could not hurt anyone ...right

I just started with one...and now I'm saying to my wife " hey, I just need a little Frag, its cool...I can still work" ..."there not even testing for Frag at work, I can quit ANYTIME I WANT"!!..."LPS is not a gateway to SPS"!!!

"Hello ...my name is Mark...and I am a Coral Addict"

Oh it's so very, very true. I love growing corals from tiny frags, and have realized that it takes quite a few frags to make an impression in a 150g tank. It's almost worse when you order online -- '$45 for shipping, to make it worth my while I really should get more than just a couple cheap frags...' Before I know it I'm in some alley behind a sketchy bar, twitching, waiting for my shipment of pretty things. Okay, it's really the FedEx depot, but still... It's just too easy to click, click, click your way further into the addiction.

Softies lead to LPS. LPS can lead to calcium and phosphate reactors, pricey skimmers, and eventually... clams and SPS. We really are in trouble, my friend.

ya sarted with next to nothing in a somewhat esablished tank with a few mushrooms and star polyps. now look I am addicted. Thank god my wife is almost as bad as I am so NO flack
