Coral under HOB

Hi

What coral can stand stand high flow other than Acro

I have an Aquaclear 70 to left side of my 17 gallon Aquamaxx
Near the sand bottom is a small tonga shelf rock about 3"x5"
that is right where the AQ70 water comes out.

Looking for a coral that would sit nicely. My Zoas look pretty thrashed.

Right now I have a Jebao PP-4 on the opposite end of the tank.

Below the HOB still gets strongest flow while other areas not so much.

I am finding placement of PH's and corals tricky with these smaller tanks.

Would be a pain but I could try to move the rocks around. Should I have
used rocks to block the flow of the HOB?

Snowlynx - What corals are you currently keeping? Soft corals tend to prefer lower flow, so if your tank is all softies, you might want to look at diffusing the flow. GSP or Xenia would probably do okey, but they grow like weeds and you risk them clogging the intake if you don't trim them regularly.

If you have a mixed reef, there are a lot more options.

I have a few Zoas on rocks, 3 small torches on sand bed.
I have a star poly, clove polyp, Zenia, all of these are frags, I tried
placing them under HOB but they also took a beating.

If you want to stick to soft coral I would recommend diffusing the flow. I would try to increase the spread, opposed to blocking or concealing the output.

can someone help with my wavemaker placement. I have 2 Jebao PP-4.

I have tried moving them around but stumped. I think the issue is
having the aquaclear 70 on the left end. photo attached. the intake of
the aq70 causes extra flow when I have the wavemaker on right side of tank
pointing towards the front of the tank.

It causes torches in front of tank to sway only in direction of the intake.

I have tried different power levels on the jebaos, using one, using 2.

I really don't want to move the AQ70 unless I really have to

I have torches, zoas and polys. I just added a frag rack to the right side of the tank.

It is either too much flow or not enough flow and flowing in one direction.

It is an aquamaxx 17 gallon, 24" long x 11.9" wide x 14" height

I have seen others put a smaller impeller on the aqua clear to cut the flow back some. Have also seen them put a surface skimmer adapter on the intake. not sure if this information will be of any help to you but just throwing it out there.

I read about that too, smaller impellars. Gotta see what they cost.

After much frustration

I re arranged my rocks. I made mistake of putting rocks in center, wasted
Space in the back.

I moved rocks to the back, more space in front for corals

flow seems to work out better now
