coral-vite by kent marine? help

i have a 46gal soft coral tanks that has been running for about 5 months. with my old soft coral tank i dosed it with combisan.and had good results.and started using it with this tank but switch to coral-vite and it seems to be harming the corals more than helping. has anyone else had this problem

Your reef salt is a complex mix, not just salt, and may duplicate some things in the coral-vite. Take a look at the labels. You may be overdosing.

It's generally a good idea to have tests for what you dose, just so you can figure out where your dosing may go over max. Not a complete answer---in fact, I've used coral vite and have no complaints of it, but if you're getting a bad result, it could be a bad interface between your salt mix and that additive.
