How long have you had it?It looks like it is bleached. Brains usually do best if placed on the sandbed in a low flow area. It looks like its hungry, do you feed it? Also is that anemone touching it, could be stinging it.

hope these are better
whatever it is its progressing
couldnt brush it off
one pic is with a flash the other isnt
only had it 2 weeks
i moved it away from the anemone

The brain coral is receding and exposing the skeleton, which allows algae (or something) to grow.

The coral looks bleached, and needs to be fed. I think it's basically dying, starving to death.

Thx

Thx

Thanks for the tips
I guess I still have a lot to learn
That coral was the exact same colour as when I bought him except for the black spots in the pics
ive only had him since december 14, i still have the receipt
thats only 1 week
i thought i had him longer
I have this KENT MARINE ZOOPLEX for inverts
Would that be good too?
Thx again.

It looks like the tissue is receding. I would dip it in a lugol's iodine bath for 15-20 minutes. I believe the recipe with the Kent product is 40 drops per gallon of dip water from tank.

Hold food close to it or touching it with a tweezers and it should put out its feeding tentacles, it will then be able to hold the food and pull it into its mouth as they are sticky.

The coral should extend feeding tentacles after dark, which would make feeding easier.

I wouldn't feed ZooPlex, based on reading the ingredient list.

I turn off the power heads and feed mine with a turkey baster. You can feed it krill or shrimp. Mine also like the formula 1 pellets. You can take a empty 2 litre soda bottle and cut it in half and place it over the coral. This will keep the shrimp from stealing the food and give it time to eat.

Splateee is the way to go to keep other critters off.

I am afraid that the tissue is torn exposing the skeleton. This does not bode well for the animal. They don't do well with flesh tears. Anyone else have any experience with this.
