Coralife or EuroReef?

I am currently trying to get all of the kinks ironed out in my setup for the 65 gallon that i am hopefully going to get this summer. i will have a 65 gallon display with a 20 gallon sump.

my question is: should i get the

Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel 125 - 125 gallon max, 173.99

or

Euro-Reef RS 80 Extruded Acrylic- rated for 80 gallons, "comparative rating" = 200 gallons. 178.99

i have heard great things about the euro reef skimmers, and not such great things about the Coralife skimmers. I just don't know if the Euro Reef will be able to handle my tank, only being rated at 80 gallons.

thanks

wow, that's great. Thanks for the tip.

i am still wondering, though, is it even worth it to get the coralife or should i just go with the EuroReef.

i have an ER and have friends with coralife. the coralife's are not bad skimmers, but definitely not on par with ER.

go with ER, much more reliable and efficient than coralife.. should be fine for your tank/sump and will skim more efficiently than the coralife you put in comparison..

Yeah I use the ER-CS80 in my 50 with 10gal sump, rocking skimmer. I'd definetly go with it, far better than the CSS-65 I tried out for a few months.

OK, i figured that would be the answer, but i just wanted to get a couple of opinions.

I will be getting the ER and i will let you know how i like it.

Definitely ER. Install a gate valve mod on the RS80 and you got yourself a winner. Buy the parts from HD or Lowe's.

The new rs models are great. they have the new neddlewheel and the the twist outlet so you dont have to get your hands wet. A great price for a great skimmer!!!

I have two RS 80's that I use off and on. very dependable and easy to use skimmer
