Coralife Skimmer question

Yes I know.....hssssss. I'm looking to upgrade in the future but this is what I have.

Any reason the level in the neck (once set) will fluctuate? I noticed the other day that after I set the level at the bottom of the neck during the day, it shot up at night and overfilled the cup. I haven't had a problem with the skimmer and it has functioned fairly well for a while so I'm assuming there's some rogue factor causing the set levels to change.

I have a corallife skimmer also, have you checked the venturi input to the skimmer pump it can start to get clogged with salt if you take off the silencer does it sound like its drawing a lot of air if not then that could be causing your skimmer to overflow. Also do you have the box were the water flows out installed, if you do the filter floss that goes in there for the bubble trap might be clogged try pulling it out and cleaning it or replacing it.
