Coralife super skimmer

i have no experience with these therefore dont listen to me for life changing answers but i read a thread somewhere about someone asking about the coralife and many replied that coralife skimmers arent good.

either way this may be a different case.
i just wanted to share that little bag of ...beans with you.

ive owned a prizm..(big no no but got it to work finally in a 14 gal sump) and then i purchased a remora 1200 mj but i must say im not happy with that either...

in any case...i would not pick a HOB skimmer...i personally cant seem to be happy with ANY ive seen.

its a good idea to google these products with the word "review" after them...see what comes up...youll be surprised to what you can find.

I read that, I found it on google.

But I also searched again, and found no other bad reviews. I think the problem with the spongebob guy was that he put it as a HOB.

I have one and it seems to work great for me. They are a little tempermantal sometimes. But just like anything else in this hobby you always have to reset things. I placed mine in my sump and so far it seems do be doing a great job.

I owned one when I first set up my tank and it seemed to do fine. I eventually upgraded but I think it would do the job for a 46 gallon tank. It would fit in a 10 gallon if you don't already have a lot of stuff in there such as return pumps, heaters, phosban reactors, etc. I agree that an auto top off might help quite a bit. It did not like variations in water level.

the pumps dont react well to fluctuating water levels. Trust me, ive had 2. If you use it as a HOB it will be fine. In a sump you need to keep the water level consistant with that skimmer

Oh I see...

Can I put it HOB in the sump? But will that produce too much noise?

Yes and no. It's not that loud.

if you hob on the sump...youd still have to make sure it has a constant water level...and i dont know where youd have room in a 10gal sump for a chamber with constant water level

i appologise for the pessimism its doable its just that in this hobby i recommend buying something once...instead of spending 150 and then spending more on a new skimmer

i suggest posting another thread asking people what skimmer you should go for with your current set up...maybe the feedback you get will help you more instead of some people saying it works great and some saying it doesnt
