Coralife vs. Reef Octopus

I'm ordering my new protein skimmer finally tomorrow and I am stuck between which protein skimmer is better the HOB Reef Octopus Classic 100 or the Coralife HOB. And why
Leave your reviews and which one is better please.

I have a 1000 and love it. they have the best customer support, do yourself a huge favor spend the extra 35 and get the 1000 seeing that pump in the tank or even the heat transfer of the pump in the water/cleaning it are worth it. every 100 owner's biggest regret was not spending that lil extra cash

I would get the reef octopus. There is really no comparison. The coral life skimmers are junk. If you get one you will soon want a better one.

I have a Coralife 65 set up as a hob, once broke in it has run great and consistent.

Personally I'd go with an Aquamaxx HOB, but my second choice would be Reef Octopus. I had a Coralife SS once, and it was absolute garbage.

the coralife 125 is started with is still one of my most hated pieces of equipment i ever purchased.

junk from start to finish. i had numerous problems with it no skimming, randomly overflowing, etc... etc...

replaced it as soon as i possibly could with a Reef Octopus, i have no regrets.

Check out the Reef Octo BH 90. It really works great and is basically care free

I'D stay away from a coralife protein skimmer. Its a waste of money. I would go with the reef Octopus IMO. I had a Coralife 65G on my old 40B and started it with my 65G. Only got it since I was able to buy it for $45 bucks at local pet store. I would never go back to it. My tank looks 10 times better with my Reef Octopus.
