coraline Algae

hi I have purple algae growing on the fron of my glass and on the power head. But none ot it grows on the back of the tank. Also, it is very hard to scrape off the glass. is there anyway to slow down the growth of this stuff or to get it to grow in the back?

12 gallon nano.

A razor would do short work of it, or you could use a old credit card.

Everyone is always so excited and in a hurry to get coralline, I think it is just a PITA.

It will grow where it wants. For removal a good scraper or razor works well on a glass tank. I have not had an acrylic tank, so I don't know what the best tool for one is. Try to stay on top of it and the removal is not so bad.

For powerheads I will do a vinegar soak to get the stuff off. Good luck just my 2 cents.
