hi im having problems with coraline algae covering my sps frags

they only thing i can think is causing this is water movment, i have a 350L display tank with a seio 1500 at one end a tunze 6080 the other end plus a eheim 1260 ( sump return ) that gives me around 40X turn-over

also have a Korallin 1501 what keeps my CA @ 400

2 X 250W 10K

IME nuisance algae won't grow on healthy corals (the healthy slime coat keeps it off), unless you have one helluva bad algae problem. I realize that coralline isn't considered nuisance in most cases, though. Are you sure it's coralline vs. some other algae? Do the frags look healthy? Are you seeing PE?

no i don't have a bad algae problem, the tank has been up and running for about 8 months now and i have been fuildilzing a PO4 remover (changing every 2 weeks) since it was setup. im pretty sure it is coraline, it is only on a couple of frags a Purple plating Montipora and a Orange finger Montiporathe other frags that i have are ok and show good polyp extension. one thing i just thought of is that when i was attaching the frags to the LR i touched the frags with my bare fingers, could that have caused some type of infection to the corals skin

thanks
