I have had my 135 now running for a year and have little or no coralline algae growing. I have a hamilton 3-250 watt halogin and 2 -60" fluorescent combo for lighting. I have 3- 14k bulbs in it that are 2 months old now. I have a calcium reactor as well as a pretein skimmer. My corals are ok but not at all fluorishing what am I doing wrong???? My sump is a 80 gallon with refugium in the center ...... HELP!!!!!!

If you have something with coralline growth in there to seed it (a piece of live rock perhaps), I would check phosphates to make sure they're near zero. You also may have too much light for decent coralline growth -- in my experience it really doesn't flourish under MH...

Check you strondium level,or supplemment extra stondium if you can!!Your Mg level, too ...Do not add much iodine....
MH does not do damage to coraline algae unless it is 7600 or lower in color temprature....We have coraline in Greek waters that thrive under natural daylight near the beach, and relatively low calcium levels(360ppm).Water salinity 1029-1030.
Temprature:13-25 Celcium.
